Jack Pizzo

Picture
Jack Pizzo (MS, PLA) is an ecologist, fire instructor and professional landscape architect with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. He also serves on the boards of The Conservation
Foundation and the State of Illinois Prescribed Fire Certification Board. He graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a BS in Ornamental Horticulture as well as a MS in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences. Jack’s philosophy is to trust the science, because understanding the science helps bring fire to places where it is needed as well as protect people, property and ecological resources.  When it comes to fire, he firmly believes in the motto “Safety First!” He and the four companies that comprise The Pizzo Group have restored thousands of ecosystems throughout the U.S.
